This mini-project was an entry on the theme "Kontur Population Dataset" for the 30-Day Map Challenge on Twitter. I visualized population density along the Ahmedabad-Mumbai industrial corridor, showing the population centers along the railway line.
I used the Kontur population data set--H3 hexagons with population counts at 400m resolution, based on a combination of GHSL, Facebook, Microsoft Buildings, Copernicus Global Land Service Land Cover, and OpenStreetMap data. I imported this data set into QGIS, subsetted it for the Mumbai metropolitan area, and made a choropleth map based on population.
